Wired the power to the amp's remote on and the ground to the amp's ground. Works like a charm. Doesn't push much air but I put it blowing over the heat fins of my JL amps so it does the trick.
The fan barely draws any current. It works fine as it is and I don't see any reason to not run it as is.
Here is my setup. Today I changed out the a1400 amp (on the left) for a JL 500/1 and put in the fan.
The amps are "floating" around 2" off the floor, and the fan is floating about 1/2" off the floor blowing upward across the fins. I'm probably going to add a second fan so I have air blowing across all the fins. I also need to put a port for cabin air exchange.
