Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a little help here. I'm looking for some help choosing an amp to power my setup. This is what I have:
HU: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X790
Front: Rainbow SLC 265 components - 100rms @ 4Ohms, 150 max
Stock 6x9s for fill powered by the HU
Subs: Two MTX Blue Thunder Legend Series 4 Ohms - 250rms, 500 max (Yes, old school, I know... been using them for years. They'll do... for now.)
Amps: I have an old Kenwood KAC-646x 4-channel laying around but I don't think I can use it b/c it's not powerful enough at only 70w x 2 @ 4Ohms.
So as you can see I'm in need of an amp, or two. I was considering the Orion 4002 or the Xenon x200.2 to power the Rainbows but don't have any idea about the amp for subs yet. I'm open to suggestions. Should I get a 4-channel that can do it all or get two separate amps? I'm looking to stay around $400 for the amps but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I could do it for less. If you could shoot some suggestions my way I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot for the help. I appreciate it.
