Amp/battery rack build help

OK I'm building this amp/battery rack to go behind the second row bench in my 00-06 model Tahoe and I was wondering since I've gotten it to the point of being almost completely done should I take the pieces that are screwed together apart and wrap it (vinyl) or should secure it all together than wrap it?

I'd wrap the pieces separately. Makes life a lot easier and it's going to be hard to notice if you use strips of wood screwed from the inside. I'm guessing that's going under the seat, so shouldn't be visible.
