AMP 800-1000RMS @ 4 OHM Advise

I realize you guys get these all day long but I've done some searching and have pulled up old stuff so I hope someone can help me out here.

Looking for an amp that does 800 - 1000RMS (maybe 1200) at 4 OHMs

budget is under $180 so I'm willing to buy used if need be

The only advise I've been given is to buy a Boss CX3500D which is rated at 1200RMS @ 4 OHM and hope (and pray) it gives me at least 800 RMS

I am feeling a little sketch about that as I don't want to waste $150 and only get 600RMS out of it. However, I don't know anything about them.

So if anyone can give me some advise on an amp that could help me out I would greatly appreciate it

the bass is junk, you prolly wont find what you are looking for in that price range, unless you get lucky and someone has an old school amp they'll sell you.you might hit up audiobahn on the forum here, he has alot of old school amps, maybe he's got something for you.

fair enough, Thank you for the recommendations. What can you recommend me that is in the $200+ range? Right now I have to buy a bigger enclosure so my budget is low. But after a week or so I could fork out the extra cash

i have a OS us acoustics usx 600f. rated 200x2 at 4, 300x2 at 2, 600x1 at 4. (12.6)

lots of fusing,

at 14.4, gurantee youll get upwards of 800-900..

but youd have to pry it from my arms to get it.

Get my old school Alpine MRV-1507. It's a beast. I used it on my sub for several months.

2x225 or 1x900 at 4ohms.

go old school. Look at ebay. They always have offerings from original Lanzar, Crunch, Autotek, Soundstream etc. You can find lots of great amps from early ninetys at the price your looking to pay.

I'm picking up a used Alpine PDX-1.1000 for $195 tommorow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif!

It's 1142wrms @ 4ohm.

Check craigslist in you area, sometimes you can find some great deals.

older RF 800.2 offerings...I had an 800a2 that was 800x1 at 12v and 4ohm, and birthed over 1k at 4ohm bridged. I got mine for 80$ used, but you can consistently find them for 160$ or less...great amps

Okay guys, thank you for all your responses.

I realize I'm dragging this out but just humor me for a second...

I'm looking at the Lanzar VBP281 $169.95 on sonic

Now I realize for the price it is, chances are it's not going to give out the ear bleeding wattage it claims.

However, It's rated at 1050 watts x 2 @4ohm

so even if it did half of what it's rated, bridged I would still be at like 1100 watts give or take

A couple have thrown around the Lanzar brand to me as being an "ok" cheap amp (as compared to boss ect)

What do you guys think?
