Why would it be bad for someone to fix them up and sell them, while really you're pretty much doing the same thing when you send them to the shop?

I'll buy broken amps and fix them for my personal collection and setup for a while, then sell them in packages with the rest of my setup. Really, is that bad? o.o I mean, if you can do it, why not? I'm on my way to become an Electrical Engineer, so why not?
