well the past few times(which where my 1st) i actually bid on any given item; the second it loads the next screen after you click "confim bid" says i got outbid; this happens with every item iv bidded on; it didnt matter what time it was; or anything like that; i lost quite a nice battery because of it; just kept getting outbid in a matter of .6 seconds am i the only one that this happens to everytime or has ebay set it up to make you think youv been outbid?

yes im new to ebay; so even though they bid a certain amount at 1 point; they will beat me just cuz their max bid is higher? dumb...

Its also possible that they use an Auction Sniper. It will automatically bid for them without them being online up to a certain amount that they enter. Its happened a few times to me, but I just got a sweet deal on a cable modem and turns out I was the first and only bidder.

ebay automatically does the bidding for you once you enter your MAX bid. If the current bid is $5, and you bid $50 maximum and the next highest bid is only $10, then your posted winning bid is @$10.50 and won't go up until someone bids more than $10.50. understand?

say your max is $250 you bid and the bid is at say $75 they will out bid you every time you bid till you over bid there max bid

It's like that for a reason.

Ebay auctions can last for days at a time, and obviously ebay doesn't expect people to watch the auction 24/7.

So lets say the current max bid is 120$ on an item. You bid 125$ but you are willing to go up to 150.

Well obviously, if no one bids any higher than you can get your item for 125, but if someone is willing to bid more than that, the price for you keeps rising till it gets to your maximum bid.

It's just an automated bidding sytem, if the person's max bid was higher than yours he won.

You cant. Its impossible. They require like .50 more than the previous max bid.

The system will not allow 2 people to have the same maximum bid. If you try to bid a maximum that someone else has already bid, then it will tell you that you have to "bump" your bid to the next highest increment. It really isn't that difficult to figure out...it's an auction...highest bidder wins.

I use ebay every so often.

Ive never tried this maximum bid feature. I just enter my bid at the very last second and hope I get it.
