Am I Just Retarded Or Somethin? (Amp Problem)

i've been running many big amps over the last couple years with my current set-up, but i'm not huge into spl stuff or anything. There may be something to what i'm saying though, i hope, since no one else is trying to work through the problem with you.
yah i appreciate the help.....but i just double-checked my batt connections and i was mistaken.......the rear batts are grounded to the chassis in the back....well one of em anyway.....the yellow top up front is grounded to chassis and then the pos is ran to the first kinetik in the back and that batt is grounded to the chassis......then the other kinetik right next to it is wired in parallel with the other one ( pos to pos & neg to neg)

So, On Sunday I Installed my brand new Hifonics Hercules Amp. I set the gains using a DMM to be putting out max power at volume 61 on my 880PRS. Today i was driving listening to music at volume 50 when my amp lets out the magic smoke. I have a 250 amp alt with a yellow top up front and 2 kinetik 2400's in the back. Big 3 Is Done with 1/0 and all batteries are wired with 1/0. My amp was wired from the batt with 2 ga and grounded at the batt with 2 ga. THAT could be the problem, too much voltage or sumthin.

this is driving me crazy......i think i'm going to give it one more try when i get a new or fixed amp back......if it happens again i'll probably just downgrade to some subs that need less power and buy a smaller amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I don't know the hifonics amps. are they fused? do you fuse your power going in to them if they aren't?

A short in the RCA could be the culprit. I've lost a brand new amp to it.

i think if it was a problem with the subs then it would have affected my lanzar that ive been using as a temp in between all my big amp catastrophe's......and they read 1 ohm with a dmm.....same with the RCA short theory....wouldnt that have affected my lanzar as well Is there a way i can check if there is a short to be on the safe side anyway?

i didn't mention it before but when my sub amp blew my speaker amp stopped working a few secs after......it was dark so i looked under my hood and i thought i saw that my fuse had blown......but i just got my new fuse and was gonna change it and realized that the fuse isn't blown....so i triple checked all my wiring and its all good.....i checked voltage at both amps and its reading between 13.8 and 14.0 with the car on......any ideas why this happened?.......the sub amp smoked so i knew it blew but my speaker amp didnt smoke it just stopped turning on. The fuses on it aren't even blown or anything.....any ideas??....could it be my remote turn-on source?....any way i could check that?
