my grand prix gtp has a bose amp on the top of the trunk.. the black box right above the left sub in this picture.. (not my car in pic btw)

But probably.... unless you're gunna use an aftermarket head unit. Then you don't need to.

Line Output Converter, taps into rear channel speakers and converts to RCA, for use without aftermkt HU's...

so since im using an aftermarker HU can i just not even touch it? or will i still have to do something with it? im brand new to this shit and still got a lot to learn about installing.

It's likely you won't have to touch it. I imagine that it is tapped into the factory wiring harness on your deck, and you will jus plug it in the new harness on the HU and then use the Sub Out preouts on your deck and run rca's to your trunk or wherever for your sub amp.

Depending on the plans for your system, you can just leave it be.
