I have an 860mp and it puts out 6.5v to the rcas. I have a rubicon 604 atm, doesnt matter the amp though. Anyway I can turn the gains OFFF and still clip a little wtf does one do?

Also this makes me not want an 8v deck.

Oh, you have an AQ amp. They have the most sensitive clipping light ever. Could just be clipping in the song you're listening to.

You cant turn gains off.

I think you just answered your own question. Your deck puts out up to 6.5 volts, your amp accepts a max of 5 volts, and you cant figure out why you can manage to clip the amp at any gain setting? The answer should be obvious.
The only way to avoid clipping that amp is to limit the volume setting on the h/u. Readjust other amplifier gains accordingly. Problem solved.

Just dont get why everyone is so excited to have 8V PREOUTS ZOMG ECLIPSE. when most amps only take 4-5v. I have since turned it down some but its annoying. didnt know if there was some magic secret i didnt know about.

also i know you cant turn them off smartazz, they are down as far as they go and you know what i meant lol.
