Alternators?

I made up my mind that I'm going to save up and get the Kicker zx2500.1. Today I'm going to go get a new battery for my (its old as hell), and I was wondering what type of modifications I'm looking to get once I get the new amp. I know its huge, and will need more than one battery to run.

Right now they'll be powering two powerbass 15's 2xl. Their 500-700rms each, (reason im getting the amp bigger tho, is I eventually want to put in some L7's or CVX's). So does anyone know what alternator's or extra batteries im going to need to get to power this amp/subs?

You can add all the fuse ratings together for a rough estimate. It'll actually be less since it won't draw full power all the time.

That amp has a 300 amp fuse rating, plus whatever amp you're going to use for your highs, and also whatever power the car uses to run.

What size is your stock alt and what kind of amp are you going to use for your highs?

Well I talked to a guy at cartunes, and he told me instead of buying the 2500.1, I should go with two 1250.1's to power them. He said he'd sell them for 550 a piece //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif He also told me not to buy the amps offlince, cuz kicker doesnt give you a warranty then.

Then he goes on to tell me I'm going to need 0 gauge wiring i think it was, 200 for it all of that, 2 more batteries, and if i remember correctly 2 alternators.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

I didnt know the trouble I was in for when I bought these 15's lol

Altogether he said a grand for the amps, and a grand for all the stuff to hook it up.

HOWEVER, since this is my new hobby, i figure its worth saving up for.

Tax return im hoping to get around 600-800 back. Hoping.

After that jump start I'm going to try an save 50-100 a week.

If you want a kicker ZX2500.1 PM NGSM13, He has mine up for sale.... because I'm lazy, lol, and you can get it for A LOT cheaper than those 2 1500s. That 2500.1 is the best amp I've ever owned IMO, no matter how you get it.

dont go to cartunes again. 0 guage kicker wire kit 90$ on ebay. 2 batterys- one new one up front and one in the back and one high output alt.

what car do you have? and remember always plan to spend more money than you think. i thought i was going to spend 1200$ in total. WRONG im going over 2200$ right nowand thats with discounts and finding deals. amp,subs,box,wiring,alternator,new battery,and accesories- battery tie down kit, terminals etc...

I'm drivin a 96 crown vic, and right now tax return is alot lower than I hoped, so I'm going to get a 1250.1 amp to push those 15's for now. Later on I may get another 1250 an get some better subs.

My real goal right now is to get the amps, batteries, alternators, cords, and batteries.

Thanks for the info on the wiring though, I'll definetely get that off ebay then.

I know cartunes is expensive, but they've been great ne time something of mine has been damaged, by replacing it or helping me. Since I'm still pretty new to this stuff, it helps take a bit of the learning curve off.

But like u said their rip off's on their prices. I know that.

Which is why i'm going to only get the amp's from them

cuz then i get their warranties, and its only like 10 dollars more from them for the amp than off ebay.

Wires, batteries, and alternators though I think i will buy from deals like u said.

But anymore hlep on the batteries worth buying? or is it important to buy really good batteries?

Alternators? I seen a rockford fosgate one for 100 at best buy, but being at best buy I know that its not too powerful.

Any info on those is great
