what other products are similar to jl cleansweep but cheaper?

i hear david navone is pretty good, anything else i should consider? i wanna keep my oem deck, but cleansweep is ~$400

what are some other alternative i have that are cheaper and just as efficient?

thanks in advance:veryhapp:

Wait is this a line output converter? A simple one can cost you like 15 dollars at a local audio shop and it will do the job(my friend has some $15 Stinger brand in his T/A and theres absolutely no line noise at all). If you spend 400 on a cleansweep ur an idiot.

I bought the same one he has and its getting installed tomorrow so if this threads still around I'll let you know how it goes.

The cleansweep is more than just an rca converter. It filters the line and applies DSP to the system to get the factory headunit response on a flatter curve. In some systems it helps, others it doesn't. I haven't seen anything else in the same class other than high level RCA converters. If you are going for sound quality, it may be worth the $400 if you need to keep your factory head unit to get a nice clean signal. Then again, your factory head unit may put out a clean signal to begin with. You have to find this part out for yourself.

I hooked up a system to the factory head without a converter to a 2005 Honda Accord and my friend made me take that baby out the next day. The line noise was terrible and everything sounded terrible when accelerating.

Then you installed it improperly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

cleansweep is marketing genious, glorified line driver
Yes, because all line out convertors have built in DSP to automatically correct for the factory's non-bypassable equalization and other features //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

To answer the original question; No, there is no other product on the market that will do what the JL cleansweep does.

Are there other line-out convertors? Yes.

Do they have the features of the JL cleansweep? Nope.

Most likely the noise was introduced by the installation, not the equiptment. 2003 and up Accords have a very sharp eq built into the factory stereo that is further enhanced by volume level.

The Cleansweep uses its onboard DSP processing to flatten the eqlization so that the signal does not have any enhaced frequency response that may adversly effect aftermarket gear.

Personally, I think that it is overpriced. I chose to spend my money on a new headunit installed in the lower section of the dash.

I think that most people would be satisfied with a $30 Line Output Converter.

Yeah probably my bad lol... He was begging to me install it I told him I never installed before. Oh well

Just got my Scorpion $15 line out converter... It works great. SQ is great. I've had an Alpine deck before with a sub and I can't tell the difference.

JL Cleansweep is a very nice piece. My local dealer sells it for $300, still pricey but nothing else out there that I know of touches it. IMO JL is targeting the newer vehicles out there that have the radios heavily integrated into the dash. Some people just don't want a custom install and prefer the stock look. The cleansweep give's you three rca outs and two aux inputs and doesn't need a lot of voltage to put out awesome sound. It's an awesome piece but definately not for everybody.
