alt wire melting?

I was wondering if any of u knew why my alt wire would start melting? I have a optima batt and a iraggi 200 amp alt.

i dont think more batts is a solution... your wire shouldnt melt at all try 0awg before an exstravagant spending

thats bc ur alt to battery wire is melted...that creates a big voltage drop...increase ur big 3 to 1/0 and have fun

im sure its draining the batt, but i dont know why it would melt a 4awg wire. cause you arent pullin actaully 200A yet(are you? what you got goin on in ur ride?)

I got two l7 15s with two kicker 600 mono runnin 1 ohm on each. each amp is rated 720 a piece

so you got 1440 watts goin on. thats quite a bit of power..do yourself a favor and buck up and get some man wire

I think 200 amps is a little much for 4 ga. Bump it up to 1/0.

I'm currently running 2 gauge welding wire from my work, strongly suggested by EA, to run to the 200 amp alt, and no melted wires as of yet. But yes, 4 gauge is a little too little.

know were I can get some good wire from? also, do u have it run under your carpet? I don't think it will fit under mine
