alt question

well finally got my system hooked up and got to test it today i have 1 12in w7 running off a 500 bd rockford amp (not the one I wanted) all I have to say is it friggin pounds I need more power though anyway I have a question I think my alt was crap to begin with but today me and my girlfriend pulled up to a intersection and you could here the alt kick on then the rpms dropped then the car started like jerking im just curious if this has happened to anyone else what should i do try to turn up my idle or get a new stock alt

Im just looking for opinions im probably gonna just have someone check it out

What year is the car? If it's older, I suggest looking into a H.O. alternator, will do wonders for your system. If it's a newer car, then the alt probably isn't in that bad of a condition, so I would get it rewound to a higher output, pretty cheap to have done. Either way you go, you will see(and hear) a difference...

i have a tarus came used with a 100 amp alt... my sugestion is get a H.O. (high output )

after market one.
