Alpine x-12

So i recently installed an alpine x 12 into my car and i used a line output converter to get the signal off the back speakers but im having problems with getting any base out of it except for really deep loud base. Like the subwoofer doesnt even hardly come on unless its bass boosted and there is only a few songs without bass boosted that it comes on for example do re mi. But when it does come on it shakes the car i think it ended up blowing my back speakers because it was to much vibration. I just want it to hit all the time instead of partially.

Get rid of the stock head unit and line out convertor, do a new head unit. Its purely a signal issue

Yea it makes no sense to invest in an X series and hook it up using a line converter any system is only as good as it's weakest link.

Could it possibly be the amp aswell i know i should probably get a good headunit, because i bought it with the amp box and sub already but together. My car is a 2006 chevy malibu if u could point me in the right direction for the headunit it needs. The amp is a jl audio jx 360/2. And it also has a scosche 500k micro farad capacitor.

Screw the head unit get a processor like a fosgate 3sixty.3 use your phone for a head unit

I might be looking at the wrong one but the fosgate 360.3 was 700 dollars and I definitely cant afford that is there anything similar thats cheaper. And will that amp that i mentioned work for that x12 or is it wrong.

You can can find them on eBay for less than $400. The amp should work is your box the right size and type?

The box is a ported sub box im not sure on the size and i dont have my car right now, i will let you know the size later
