alpine wattage question

I have a mrx-m110 1100 watt amp mono block and the specs on crutchfeild says.mono subwoofer car amplifier

650 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (1,100 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

800 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

CEA-2006 compliant.

I thought lowering the ohms makes higher power so the question is how can it go from.

They are designed to make more power at 2 ohm than 1 ohm.

Basically, they designed the power supply to roll back power when it's being stressed. It will survive 1 ohm, but it's not meant to be run there.
