Alpine vs Orion 4 channel amps

Right now i have a Alpine MRV-F545 i just upgraded to from the F345 because the 345 keep shuting off from excessive current and i thought it was broke. And after upgrading the 545 shuts off from the same thing. i double checked all my wiring again though i know thats not the problem cause i've have other systems installed with no problem so im assuming there is a flaw in these amps. I just bought a Orion 2500D and i thinking about selling the alpine and cop'n a orion 8004 but i cant find any through reviews on their mult-channel amps. Opinions? Also anyone think the excessive current could be from the 8v preout on my deck, i have the gains set at 1.3v cause at 2.5 or even 4v i have to turn it up to max to be as loud as a a 100w boombox. any suggestion are appreciated.

gains are way back
