Ok....were talkin a big difference here. L7 15" - handles 1000+ watts Rms. Very loud sub, needs a big ported box, doesnt do too well on the SQ side. Will do fine for rap music, but Rock, techno, fast beats it will sound muddy.

Alpine Type R's - they handle 300-500 watts rms. they dont get that loud, but loud enough for the average joe. They have great SQ. they work much better in sealed boxes and i wouldnt recommend putting them ported. Honestly for that price i would go with ED K's. They get louder and sound even better. http://www.edesignaudio.com they cost pretty much the same pricce and they do well in ported boxes.
