Alpine SPR-60c Don't Sound Right?

Recently my sub died on me so i want to change the speaker setup so i get a nice punchy bass coming through them. Before i had all the bass coming from the sub and only mids and highs coming through my components. My highpass filter is now set at about 80hz. Tbh i think My speakers are blown, as im turning the volume up the bass isnt that punchy and as i go a couple clicks higher they straight away start bottoming out. And as i remember when i first got them they didnt bottom out so quickly. They also sound very flat. Any suggestions what settings i could change on the amplifier? I dont really think they sound as they should for £170 speakers. Does anyone else have opinions on these speakers?

HU- Alpine CDA 117ri

Speakers - Alpine SPR-60c

Amp - Alpine Mrp-f600

Cheers for any replys!

There aren't any glowing reviews of these speaker so far... For punchy up front bass, I'd look into Massive Audio CK6V speakers.

is it in just your doors or do you have a rear deck? i have the same situation as you because the rear deck in my car leads into the trunk so the trunk enclosure is so big its not gonna get some bass unless the speakers are in a door/enclosed space

Rear are for females...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Dead door and dnt expect alot of "bass" from them as said above they are mids...... Whats ur slope set at? Try crossing them higher 100hz to prevent any damage from over excursion.

Thats part of the problem... seal your doors and deaden them...
I got my speakers fitted by a car audio place near me and I just remembered my that my speakers are deadend but the doors arent' date=' just around the speaker is. Car Audio & Security: Car Stereo, Speakers & Subwoofers, Car DVD Players, GPS and CD Changers something like in that picture.

Sorry i dont know what the slope is set at i dont really know what that means, could you shed some light(still quite a noob with this stuff but learning)?? Also cross them at 100hz on the high pass filter?

Another question, If i set the HP/LP/OFF setting to OFF, what does the crossover frequency change? i understand that on the high pass, it stops certain lows getting to the speaker, and low pass cuts off certain highs

Cheers!

Ya thats virtually useless if thats all thats done... It needs to be fully sealed like this VVV
