I know this is an old system but a totaled car came into work and the kid left the entire system in the car so I took it out to put in my 1997 Suburban that had the stock radio. I have the iva-c800 flip out display, the brain, CHA-S624 6 disc changer, and NVE-N851A DVD NAV. Im pretty sure he has the bypass hooked up for the brakes because the nav comes on without doing any tricks.
Ok so my questions are: the nav disc that is in there is from 2000 I think. There are A LOT of new streets since then. Can I do anything about this. Are there updated disc I can buy or a different nav system that will hook in there with no problems? This is my main concern because Id really like the NAV working.
The next thing is if I were to upgrade the head unit, is there an Alpine touchscreen flip out that will hook up to the brain? This isnt a big deal to me but just wondering. Its all that Alpine Ai-net and wasnt sure how interchangeable they were.
Sorry first post and all, I searched but didnt find the answers I was looking for.
