since I have the controller, it will work with any Ai-Net head unit made. it bypasses the head unit's internal processing/eq. i ran this with over a dozen different alpine HU's made from 1996-2009.

what's nice is that since it is separate from the HU, you can enter tuning menus that never time out and change tracks/adjust volume/etc. while making separate processing adjustments. trust me, this is HUGE and something i miss every day with my CDA-9887.

it's a wonderful piece and i know i'll regret selling it. but it will sit in it's packaging for a while before i'll integrate it again.

I've also owned an ERA-G320 and ran that for almost a decade. I've ran AudioControl, PPI, Alpine, and Clarion active components. I've had external processing since the late 90's. The H701 is extremely flexible. It has it's own issues as a result of cost savings, but the noise floor is much lower than any other Alpine unit i've tried (haven't ran F#1). The G320 had a very audible background hiss that is only present in the H701 at high volume levels with high gain structure.
