Alpine problem

This is my first post so take it easy on me.

I just took out a Pioneer 7700 and put in a Alpine 9831. It played fine for a day then, no audio. You can turn it WFO and here static but no sound. I don't think any speaker wires are grounding so any tips on what it might be?

Also, was this a good trade?

Thanks,

Scott.

Just a little more info.

The unit does everything mormal but no audio. At first, I thought it was getting too hot but when it doesn't play, it seems relativly cool. I can unplug thw connectors and plug it back, then it works fine.

It never quits when its on, only when you first start the car.

Can anyone shed light on this for me????

Thanks.

check fuses/ wiring. also, this may sound dumb but check to see if you didnt mix up bat and ignition. maybe its slowly draining your batt and not allowing it to play under a certain voltage.

also check to see if all your speakers are wired correctly. other than that not sure. let me know if nothing works.

if worse comes to worse. u have a faulty HU, take it back for an exchange. Alpines have been having problems lately.

I'm pretty sure the wiring is OK. I got both adapters from CC (Alpine to Universal, then Universal to Chevy). I took out the two Universals and soldered it back to eliminate one connection.

I just talked to Alpine and the tech said send it to them but that was $95 that I don't want to spend.

Thanks.
