^^good deal

Sounds like the PDX excels in SQ but is a little lacking in the sub dept. I'm still confused, I have plenty of room for 2 amps and the Rockfords are a bit less expensive. Sounds like the Fosgate subs are a sure thing while the PDX is a bit more of a gamble especially in the sub dept. I will talk to the shop again tomorrow and see what his rationale is for the PDX5. 12: Boston sub is coming in the BA supplied enclosure.

a little off topic now, but sinces your on the topic. I'm pretty sure every car manufaturer makes thier car to their to support what they put inside and a little more. Therefore putting a high powered audio system is not in their main concern. Running a cap also helps keeping ur system running @ 14.4volts, which will help the amp produces better and louder sound. Also helping your alternator not work so hard. I would still recommend it for any vehicle which is running amps.
I was not saying that buying your amps he would have to buy caps. (If that was your concern) I was just saying the PDX5 would run just fine without 1.
Search around, you will see that an extra battery and/or a High Output alternator will work wonders over a capacitor. That is what I meant by "proper electrical system!" Also, just adding a second battery will outdo most capacitors!

But as you said, a PDX5 should be just fine for "most" factory electrical systems. After all, I have no serious voltage drop issues with a Rockford Fosgate 25 to Life Power 1000 in my 2006 Mustang GT:eek:

btw.. Hope ur not really a psycho, cuz that would mean I'm in some serious Sh*t.. lol..
The jury is still out on that one:laugh:

I've read all the reviews I can online and still don't see a clear cut winner when comparing my two choices. I will see what the prices are for the PDX. I really dislike booming sloppy bass systems and am looking for the tightest bass I can get with my BA 12" G2 sub. The idea of one sub with a small footprint is tempting. I am also confident whichever system gets installed will be awesome and and won't look back!

then maybe you cant go wrong, why dont you pick one and decide, you've gotten numerous opinions, I dont know what more you were looking for.

I dont think the quality of pdx vs fosgate is going to be very audible, the fosgate gives you more power and flexibility and is cheaper. If its too much power, you turn the gain down on the fosgate. I dont see the issue, if you dont like that rationale then you must be pulling for the pdx, give it a try, worst case scenario you sell it and get it right next time.

If ur looking for tight bass, dunno why ur going with 12" subs. U should be sticking with 8's or 10's....

How about this. Go to the store and buy an amp, and if u don't like it return it and try the another. (But u better make sure the store will let u return if not satisfied with the amp, some store won't let u return on an installed equiptment)

Better yet, if he happens to be working with a store that sells both brands, they may let him demo both amps in his own vehicle! Years ago, when I was thinking about going from a pair of 10s to a single 12, the custom audio shop said "Let's see what the difference will be." They pulled my car into the install bay, played the 10s that I already had, then they pulled them out and played the 12" Solo-baric that I was thinking about purchasing. I ended up leaving with the single 12" Solo-Baric because I found it sounded better than the 10" Savard Hi Qs that I was running at the time!

Regardless, it doesn't hurt to ask for a demo! In this economy, they may be willing to do just about anything to make a sale.
