Alpine PDX4.100 vs Eclipse EA4000/36401

Can get a NIB one for really cheap(like less then 150) from a audio store that closed. Are these amps good? For comparison my other options are an eclipse 36401 or ea4100. I want good clean power, with lowest possible distortion. Which would be a better option? Will be using front and rear stage from my sig with amp

You think so? Was the PDX one of there better line?

I know somone said they had a m1000 and everyone said it would only do like 750 clean....

EDIT: Just noticed its a class D amp, arnt A/B's better for door speakers? Whats the difference really????

From my current understanding class D amps are more efficient then A/Bs correct? Meaning easier on my electrical???

yes and more power too.the pdx amps are very nice and sound pretty good too

Thats what i thought the trade off was, and the whole reason im changing from my db 90.4 is for better sound. So you think one of the eclipse's is a better option? If SQ is my main priority

I had the eclipse EA4100, very nice amp. If u dont for bulk, the eclipse is just as good. But can only work at 4ohm. Nothing lower.

Thats not true on the quality a/b being nicer then class D.

I am currently running a PDX 4.100 from a class A/B, Also a couple of IASCA Extreme and Pro SQ competitors use class D topology so that tells you something right there. One car uses JL Audio HD amplifiers not sure about the other brand of amps in the other car.

I have an Eclipse 3140 that I got off Ebay for 36 bucks including shipping. Does 2 ohms per channel w/o breaking a sweat and sounds clean as hell. Love it.

One of my best (very) low-buck buys, ever.
