SO I am a total car audio noob. I had a basic setup in my Honda Civic:
Alpine SPR-17S in the front
Alpine SPR-69C in the rear
Alpine PDX-4x100 amp
Alpine CDA-9883 Head Unit
The Civic is being sold and the stereo is going with it, so I am starting over fresh. I just picked up an 07 Honda S2000 a few weeks ago, and the stereo is literally inaudible with the top down. So far I have picked up the following:
Custom footwell sub box w/ Memphis MR10S4
Kenwood KIV-BT900 Head Unit
PDX-5 amp
I have been planning on going with the Alpine SPX-17PRO for my component set. I was going to run the PDX-5 bridged so it would be putting out 150w to two channels.
My question is where should I set the gain for this component set if I run them passive? The RMS is 100w but I hear they need more power than Alpine leads on. I don't want to overpower the tweeters.
