Alpine PDX 1.1000

Ok so I got my new amp today. Alpine pdx 1.1000, but I dont really know how to hook up my subs to it. They are 2 jl audio 12w6v2's. The subs themselves are wired at 8 ohms individually so together they are 4 ohms. So do I wire them each to they're own speaker plug? Or do I just use one for both subs? And what should I set the input gain selector switch to and the subsonic filter mode switch to?
