I am looking at buying a MRD-M500 amp. I also found a great deal on a MRP-M650 though and now I need the help of some pros!

Everything about the MRP-M650 sounds better(except the analog controls) but I compared photos of both of them and the MRP-M650 has tiny little power and ground inputs...

Am I hallucinating or is the amp seriously lacking in its inputs?

Maybe I am just wrong but here are the pics: 1st is the 650

I have a Alpine MRP-M650 that I got barely used off of Ebay for 128.00 shipped.

Not a lot of frills but clean, efficient rated power.

Just get a good h/u and you're good to go.

I ran a digital Alpine a few years back(not sure what model) and it was great. Never overheated even during the Texas summer.

no your right, check out the size difference on those power and ground inputs vs the ones on the 500. but you wouldnt need anything bigger than 4 gauge anyways so I guess it doesnt matter

the rcas and the low pass and gain are on the opp side not under a cover tho, they are flush mounted to the side

but correct me if I am wrong the D is all digital right with those buttons and the screen? vs the mrP I've heard people speaking about the old mrD-m1000 vs the new P one, and the old D one crushing these P ones... I don't know much else about the details and I really dont know the difference, something to look into tho i just dont have time

Thank you for giving me your insight fellas.

I believe I am going to go with the M500 because I have a heavy gauge wire set and I am not paying money to have trouble getting the amp to work with what I have.. and I really want the digital tuning feature.

I know that the tuning controls for the M650 are on the opposite side shown in the picture. I was just saying that the input and output power terminals are oddly small and I wanted to be sure that I was correct in my judgment of what I saw in the photo comparison.
