Alpine IVA-W505 W/P1 Vs. Pioneer Z110bt

Hi guys

I've been fooling around for a while and decided I had to register. So here it is.

I drive a 08 Civic SI that comes with a so called Premium audio system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif. I wanted to upgrade this system but started by doing a big mistake.. adding a amp to the already amped signal going to the sub. So I now have a 12" MTX 712 in a ported box that, surprisingly, plays very well considering the factory head unit.

But now it's time to change the unit and I've been debating with a few friends and coworker about what Head-unit to get. I need something quick, with GPS and I really like the bluetooth music transfer with the pioneer HU.

I know the MSRP is higher on the Pioneer but I can have both for the same price. Are there any reasons ehy I should go with the Alpine over the pioneer? The Display is much nicer IMO with Pioneer (not talking about video playback but more settings, music, map display).

Am I missing something about the alpine ..

i like alpine sound and screen is high quality. but its overpriced kinda for the features u get. although the imprint gives you very good sound settings

I've owned both (own the z110bt currently).

Though I haven't owned the P1.

From what I've been told the P1 is garbage. Trust my sources so I didn't bother to purchase it.

You have to buy multiple add-ons for this unit, too. Separate nav, separate BT. Stupid.

z110bt > w505.

z110bt has built in nav and bluetooth as well as voice control of all sources.

I been running the 505 for about year now and no issues at all, the p1 works great for me. I just did a road trip from dallas to detroit and back and there using the mapquest way and on the way back I used the p1 way and the p1 way saved me about 40 miles. I bet though the pioneer works just as good.I guess somtimes it boils down to if your a pioneer or alpine man.

no boiling down to pioneer fan vs. alpine fan.

I have never been a fan of pioneer. always ran alpine.

so, consider that when I say there's no way I'd run the 505 over the z110 if you have the choice of either one.
