Alpine IVA-W505 iPod Video

So I'm a little grumpy with Alpine's typical behavior of making certain things a real pain in the ass. I just ordered an Alpine IVA-W505 and I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be able to watch videos from my iPod on the HU.

The cable that Alpine tells you to purchase to connect your iPod to the IVA-W505 is the KCE-422i cable but it doesn't look like that cable supports video. However, the other cable they make the KCE-430iV DOES support video.

The problem is Alpine bundles this cable with the IVA-D106 and I haven't been able to find the cable by itself for sale anywhere in the US. Score one for the Brits, it is apparently on sale over there at several different stores.

I don't know why this isn't sold in the US, or why it is only bundled with the IVA-D106. Has anyone tried using this cable on a HU other than the IVA-D106? Is there anyone out there that has the IVA-106D and has access to a IVA-W505 to see if this might work?
