does anyone know if this flips inside when the car is turned off..or does it stay open like this all the time? reason im asking is the obvious concern for theft..alarm or no alarm..something like this out in the open encourages people.

Hmm.. while I dont share your condescending attitude....

If I recall, it was Kenwood that started doing that first, and I've never seen it on a DD unit like these.

me thinks you dont understand the topic at hand...

it doesnt flip inside itself, exactly... there was a HU years ago that, once you turned the power off, the face would flip itself around (do a top to bottom 180) and leave a blank black space in your dash. this looked nearly identical to a HU with a detached face, which would deter thieves //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

a double din could do this easily, just gotta do the geometry, and since they just about all have motors, i dont think it would be too hard.
