Alpine HU shutting off randomly??

I have an older Alpine CDA 7863... the unit works great, except recentely I have had trouble with it shutting off on its own randomly going down the road. It will come back on on its own or with some help from my fist... I redid the harness connections, and have narrowed the problem to where the Alpine harness connects to the back of the HU itself.... If/when the HU shuts off, if you jostle the connection a certain way, it will come back on. Note also that the HU is not losing constant power, as it retains all presets, etc. but the switched 12v on the harness appears to have some problems connecting. Anyone ever had a similar problem? Would just replacing the Alpine harness be the answer? I have tried "adjusting" the old harness, but to no avail. Thanks in advance
