I would like to get 550+shipping for these 2 pieces, but I also have some additional items I will include to make a bad *** combo.

I have an Alpine 9861 head unit that has optical out from the deck that you can send straight to the processor. Add $160

I also have an Alpine CHA-S624 which is an optical cd changer. Add $70

If all of this is bought together, I will toss in a 17'' toslink cable.

how big is the controller in comparison to the average half din? would it be fairly easy to bolt it up in an over under install with a regular deck

absolutely. There is a din adapter plate that I thought I had, but can't find. I'm sure you can get one from the Alpine parts department for cheap if I can't find it.
