Alpine CDA9856 acting strange with iPod

I am having a strange problem with my iPod Classic ver. 1.1.2 ...

Sometimes it will select the next song, but it only plays about 5-6 seconds of it, then skips to next song. It will multiple songs in a row, then runs fine. When I test those songs on my PC or through headphones, they run fine, they only skip on my Alpine. Any ideas?
