The 9886 comes with a 2-band EQ, unless one gets the Imprint module, then it has a 5-band PEQ. The 9887 has all the features of 9886 + Imprint, other than the mic and auto-tuning. The 9887 comes with a 5-band PEQ/ 7-band EQ, 6-channel T/A, and the capability to run an active system via its crossovers, as well as 6 presets for each function. The 9886 can't do any of that without an Imprint module. Adding Imprint to a 9887 only gives it the ability to auto-tune; the rest is built-in. The 9887 is also based on a 24-bit BB DAC. See the difference?as well 250 for the imprint? that makes it around 600$ vs 250 for the next model down. mainstream joe doesn't need all that IMO
You'd have a better argument if you compared a 9886 to a 9884. The main difference between the two are the pre-outs (2V vs 4V) and the display.
