I havent owned the kenwood listed nut my 9855 owns my old kenwood

like above I cant comment on the Kenwood, but I love my 9855, it has features out the ***.

The Alpine CDA-9855 and the eXcelon KDC-X589 aren't nearly the same class of head unit. Much as everyone knows that Prowler loves his eXcelon gear the Alpine wins hands down in this particular incredibly unbalanced comparo...

I dont own a 589,but do own a 789 and an 889

and the both pwn alpine's

I have done a side by side SQ comparison and

Kenwoods easily sound better tyhan the alpine

maybe its the 24bit DACs?
