Both excellent decks here.. at one time I was going to buy an 8300U but decided to save up for the Alpine. I'm currently using a 9855 and it's the best HU i've ever owned, and I see no replacement for it in the near future. How does that Alpine open up? motorized fold down like the 9831? I want it so **** bad but it'd take me a while to gather up 320 bucks.

that white bar they call it "glide touch" thats the reason I didnt buy that alpine. It hates my fingers. lol. I love that panasonic too, I have had MANY succesful installs with panasonic creating happy campers. I am running a 7401 right now, and I have a double din 6503 for sale (dont need it). EXCELLENT head units!

yea thats the glide touch.. its kind of like the ipod wheel where you just put your finger on it and drag..

takes a little time to get used to but i love the feature
