How does this older heat unit compare to a CDA-9887

does it have better setting contr than the 9887

some one is offering me one and I don't know if I should take it

****, been a while since I messed with one of those. compared to a 9887, it's pretty much on par with it. Don't think the 7873 had ipod capability, or TA IIRC. It had Bass engine plus, and not Bass engine pro. It does have crossovers, and 3 set of "4volt" rca's. Pretty much the same EQ, and was xm ready. The 9887 essentially has Bass Engine Pro. Go to Crutchfield and compare some older Alpines like the 9831 and the 9835. That'll give you a comparison between Bass Engine Plus and Bass Engine Pro. They'll have detailed of each under the "Hands-On Research" tab.
