****, been a while since I messed with one of those. compared to a 9887, it's pretty much on par with it. Don't think the 7873 had ipod capability, or TA IIRC. It had Bass engine plus, and not Bass engine pro. It does have crossovers, and 3 set of "4volt" rca's. Pretty much the same EQ, and was xm ready. Been a while since I played with one so don't take my word as the bible lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The 9887 essentially has Bass Engine Pro. Go to Crutchfield and compare some older Alpines like the 9831 and the 9835. That'll give you a comparison between Bass Engine Plus and Bass Engine Pro. They'll have detailed of each under the "Hands-On Research" tab.

I'm hoping to find someone who might be able to repair this head unit. The faceplate doesn't slide out at all.

The cutting it off part is what I'm confused about now. The speakers in my car have two wires coming off of them but I would only have one wire on...
