/////Alpine Ai->aux problem

I'm trying to hook up my mp3-player to my CTA-1505R using the "PIE ALP/AI-RCA" adapter cable, but the HU simply won't admit there's something plugged into it's Ai-net socket.

I don't know whether the Ai is working with a changer as i just got the HU second(third?) hand. I'll see if i can try that out one of these days. The cable didn't come off the shelf either so it too could be faulty.... anybody any ideas? coz i really want some tunes when i'm going for a trip in a couple of weeks...

SOLVED!!

Don't remember where i found the fix but it seems to be working so i'm happy. Apparently i had to ground the tel.mute-interrupt cable while the radio was turned ON and tel-mute switched OFF and the aux-input starts playing. So now to find a smooth-looking switch to put between, somehow find the space to push the radio all the way into the dash, ditch the factory speakers, hook up an amp and my 91 justy is ready for the highway (at least audiotainment-wise)
