I just installed this head unit into my car and I only get sound from the raidio. The cd player and ipod play but there is no sound. Someone told me to connect the remote blue/white wire from the car harness to the power antenna solid blue off the head unit, i did this and when i turned it on the head unit flashed a couple times and now doesnt even turn on. I assume the head unit took a shit but i just wanted to see if anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it, so when i get another one I dont do it again. Thanks.

what kind of car? I had that problem in my MDX because it had Bose.

I have that same Alpine, I am not positive but I believe that you can turn off the internal amp? Also did you double check all your connections.

Oh, I misread, that is weird that it only works on radio. It must be a faulty unit, did you get it new, also you do not need the power antenna wire connected. Their also may be a reset button somewhere on that radio, that is a shot in the dark but it may work.

sounds like your power antenna signal from the head unit was connected to the remote turn on wire for your amps. (if you are amping your mids and highs) I dont understand what you said that you did... try hooking it back up the way it was and see if it powers back on

I got it to work, I hooked up the power antenna off the head unit to the remote wire on the car harness, then the power antenna wire from the cars harness to the remote wire off the headunit.I had it backwards before. Thanks for the suggestions.
