Alpine 9887 Questions

I just ordered an Alpine 9887 for my passat 4motion. I would like to be able to hookup and control an ipod through it. What all is needed to do this? Any particular ipod needed? There some sort of nice ipod dock? Is it just a cable from the ipod to the hu?

Also I have a sirius receiver for my car, one that allows you to pause/ff/rw etc, I would like to install this as well, can both the ipod and the sirius be hooked up at once?

If I were to get the sirius addon tuner and control sirius through the 9887 is there a pause/ff/rw option?

Alpine KCE-422i for iPod Control...cable from HU to iPod works with any with dock connector.

You can make your own dock or try and find one online..

Do you know if this uses the same plug on the 9887 that I would need to hook up my sirius receiver?, as of now (on my old kenwood hu) I have the sirius receiver plugged into the back of the hu using aux in rca plugs.

called crutchfield, they were able to answer all my questions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif the alpine sirius radio interface has a passthrough so I can plug the ipod cable right into that, and I would have to plug my plug n play current sirius receiver into the alpine radio interface if I wanted to keep my replay feature.

yea Sirius radio connected to ipod cable ran through somewhere unconspicuous to make it look nice and hook ipod up and there you go. You wont be disappointed with ipod control thats for sure. Pretty effin fast

I hate the Ipod control on my Alpine 9861, it's the fast search also with 422i cable only needed.
