Hey guys,

I'm deciding between these two headunits. All of my music will be played from my iPod so I'm really looking for a headunit that I can scroll through 2,500 songs on my iPod somewhat quickly. I've heard the 9887 is better for tuning but I'm scared it's going to take me many minutes to scroll through songs like some of the headunits I've played with before. Let me know which one you think I should go with. Thanks

Cleaner, increased signals coming out of your rcas going into your amps.

Put it this way, 9887 if you ever plan on going active or if you still want to use cds. I don't see how alpine can get away with headunits without cd players.

me neither, i'm just so scared the 9887 is going to be a hassle with 2500 songs

Because the age of ipods and flash drive are here. If you want better quality sound go with the 9887 if you are just looking to go threw music quickly than the w305. I know once in a while I buy a new cd and want to play it immediately

I have about 4000 songs on my iPod and with my 9887 it has never been an issue. Using the 1 thru 6 presets makes it a snap to hop through the song list. I tend to create playlists anyways so I don't spend a lot of time searching around.

The 9887 is top of the line when it comes to Alpine and really, for the money you cannot go wrong. IMO.

The 9887 is truly an excellent head unit. Been using mine for well over a year now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I never really had a problem with scrolling through songs either, but I also had playlists as well.

ok, how about the tuning options on the 9887 compared to the w305? Thanks so much for your help guys. For my front stage, I've got a pair of Image Dynamics CTX65CS's and a Cadence DCA-4100.

I tried messing with the parametric EQ and time delays myself and just could not get it right...so I used the Imprint software instead...perfect! Imprint is another reason to go with the 9887. Very nice! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
