Alpine 9856 Processing?

Okay I was thinking of getting the 9856, then after reading on here, no one here likes the 9856 because it lacks the processing unit or something. What would be a replacement unit for the same price that has processing. Is my Sony headunit (CDX-F7705X) better by any chance? I was also looking at the KDC-X890 it looks sweet, and is powerful. Can I plug my video ipod directly into the USB interface that it has?

Man do I ever feel like a noob.

They dont like it because it has limited control. All you can control is the Bass and Treble. I have one and I love it.

i like the deck but it does lack processing which i solved by getting an external processor. ipod interface is great on it
