Hurtin' feelings errrday.
I bought the 9835 (for my Tahoe) about a year ago, and still sitting in my garage. So why haven't I installed it you may ask?! Because I just recently bought my house which is far more important. Anyway, I just looked through the owners manual online(thx to apoc on here that sold me the unit didn't provide it) and didn't see anything as far as hooking an ipod to it. I googled for a lil while and dug up some info that it IS possible...but gotta buy a seperate unit. SO...why didn't Alpine put any ipod info in the owners manul (unless I missed/overlooked it)and is it worth the extra 200-300 for a ipod and seperate unit, that songs can only be d/l'ed from Apples website from what I was told, or just stick with the 'ol CD's?? Money isn't really an issue.

i have this unit and love it,im not an i-pod kinda guy, strictly cd's and mp3's.there is nothing in my manual that says anything about i-pod play.this is a sweet sounding unit even if you cant play i-pods on em.i wouldnt sell it if i was you.but if you insist on i-pod playin, then i would have to say yes,its worth it to spend the extra bucks if its an option

They can be had for alot less than $100 bones. I got mine for around $40 used on egay. Works OK with my 9855. Its by no means full speed like current models but it serves its purpose.
