Alpine 9835 of Alpine iva d310

right now i have the 9835 and i'm thinking about selling it for a d310 plus a little cash. Will i notice a big change in sq. Is the d310 a good dvd player. Just trying to decide if its worth the switch

sq between HU is very hard to listen for. i would consider the switch based on other factors such as do you want dvd, will you add navi option, will you add the h701 processor, ipod controls, etc.
