Alpine 7894 Install Help

It wont work because it is 60x4 and has a V-Drive amp in it and needs constant power..........i just hooked it up to the battery so im not worried about it anymore. Thanks anyway.

umm actually it would work....all radio's have a constant wire....but if u wanna run it from the batt....have fun......60x4 is actually probably closer to 15-25w rms....thats the max specs that h/u's post

alpine v drive amps are around 27x4 rms they need a battery dirrect cable not from the fuse box thy draw over 20 aps if you are running 4 speakers of the deck my 7892 does 15 amps with the speakers highpassed at 160 hz and that is with 4 speakers just over 20 amps at flat xovers so battery dirrect via a fuse is the way to go 12 gauge is best

Fuses are designed to protect the wire that the circuit fuse belongs to , If you put a bigger fuse in the wire could melt if it becomes shorted and catch fire YOU DO NOT REPLACE BLOWN FUSES WITH BIGGER THAN WHAT IS CALLED FOR IN THAT CIRCUIT ! You actually do this ? Do you work at circuit city ??

never mind im not even going to respond to that...i'd hope u would have a little more respect for me....of course i know what fuses are for....im suggesting it for the h/u power....im also assuming they are running a larger wire to the h/u as well.....have you read the rest of the post????neways...im not going to go any further w/ this particular discussion

Is there any reason to run such a large power wire direct from the battery rather than feed the head unit off of the wiring harness inside the car *IF* you do not intend to use the internal VDrive amplifier? The amp can be disabled through settings in the head unit, so I don't see any reason to run 10ga wire just to supply constant +12v to the head unit if you're running outboard amps anyway.
