just sold off my macrom m2s.61 speakers and was considering trying out one of these 2 speakers?

how would the compete with my macroms? also using a mtx 7804 amp.

Looks like 100 retail.

I would go with the infinity, I like the sound better and they handle more power than the type-s's.

Look into other stuff online though too, maybe components?

I actually tried both of these, I liked the Infinity better. More crisp and clean, not the greatest midbass though. The Alpines were the other way around, had nice midbass but the clarity lacked. I do like the Infinity though, Im still using them now.

The type "R" 6.5's have a very good response---but ..be prepared to put the full 100 rms to them.I'm running 2 sets of the co-Ax and a set of the'R' components off the PDX 4 x 150.Alpine's are kind of picky,they seem to like their own amps and head units.I ran 4 6.5 type 'S''s,Older 'S' comps with a f-450,that was good also.---I'm very ignorant--what is /are Macroms?? The MTX 4 channel should be enough??What are the rms specs. on it? Good Luck!! Alpine50................

I too have not heard great things about the midbass from the Infinity Reference line but better things about the Kapas.
