i have a alpine 3552 that i bought that has no remote power plug. i was curious as it has two prongs. are they both needing to be powered or one or whats the deal? anyone have a plug for cheap lying around? did a search and this site has a good pic of what it looks like. thanks all.

Pacparts has the remote plug listed as "discontinued" I am sure you could get something similar at an electronics store.

Hook the power and ground to the unit but not the remote, use a multimeter to see if one of the remote pin connectors is live that will then tell you which is the "in" and which is the "out". The "out" will be live, it also may only be live when a remote lead is connected.

yea, i was assuming that i would have to have the remote powered to get power out if thats the case as whatever you used the out for would always be on otherwise.
