soo how the feck do you power all of those display amps in the shops? do yall have like.. wicked power supplies or what? i want to do a 500 watt mono amp in my room but all i can come up with is a car battery with a charger on it or an expensive power supply that the initial install wouldnt be worth.

shwhat?? tutorial on how to wire that ish up?
I've done a write-up on another thread...

Google it...

You have to ground the power on wire, then use the yellow and black wires (yellow is 12v+ positive, black is negative.)

It's REALLY REALLY important you watch how many amperes the amp is pulling.

A 700watt power supply will not really supply 700 watts in the 12 volt line. My PSU has a 52ampere 12volt rail, so it can produce 624 watts in the 12volt rail, but I believe it's rated at 650, because of the 5v rail and the 3.3v rail.

I use to run a PSU for a computer for 3 sli graphic cards it was like 1,200 watts it was 380$

Amps are key in a computer psu for a amp...the big psu i had was like 190 amps look at the cosair psu thats 72 amps for 90$ i had 2 of them powering some nice computers

so the 580W 30 amp one wouldnt do the trick for a 500 watt amp?
Don't use that shitty psu..Spend 100$ for a nice psu i had that 520 psu poped it on a amp and it blew the fuse....cheaping out on a psu is like cheaping out on a sony explod for subs

that one doesnt look bad at all lol
for powering 500rms it will do fine now if u wanta power a shop just let me know i can show u some big boys u can play with

thats 72 amps right there will do decent grab two of thoughs and u can power some big boys
