i can't imagine anyone giving $10 as a wedding present... most people that actually show up would probably give about $100.
You've never seen someone get a toaster or a blender for a present? How much do you think those things cost?

Seriously though I did not register anywhere, I would just ask for gift cards or cash.
got married sept 7, didnt register, got about $2,000 and $300 Macy's gift card which was super handy.

cash works //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif helped pay off the reception.

yeah lol, we got $20 here and there from a few people, it adds up. I definately wont refuse $! Even though the per person cost of our meals was $30-40 I dont remember.

registered at lowes and target...

Dont register at lowes... if anyone buys anyhting to be picked up at a store.... it must be picked up at that exact store.... example...family members in las vegas bought some stuff at lowes for us to get, but we couldnt since it was paid for in Las Vegas, nor could we just get the money back.

I always feel bad taking gifts from anyone because my wife and I are doing better than anyone in our families. But we tried to go across a wide spectrum of places to make sure if someone wanted to buy something there was something in everyone's price range.

well when i got married in june we did the registry thing at target, and at linens & things

we got most all that we had selected. we had about 175 people come and there was a large amount that only gave cash i think we gained 5400.00 dolars

and we come from a very average income families, so really if you do a registry most poeple other than your imediate family won't use the registry.

Congrats, and I have a question for you. Where all did you register? Of course I will let my fiance make the final decision, but I thought that I might be able to win some big points with her if I could suggest a few good places that she has not considered.
Less than six more months for me!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
i registered @ target

you can register at more than one place ya know.

I got my sister a case of motor oil for her wedding. Well, that was mostly for her husband. I don't plan on registering nor care if people get us anything.

This is really more for her than it is you. You should keep that in mind.

I'm just along for the ride. Marriage is the only way I can get on her health care plan.
That's a horrible reason to get married. Just know that you are setting yourself (and her) up to be very unhappy.
