ive got 2 kicker cvrs comin soon and found out my box is roughly 1.25 cubic feet each side for airspace. they call for a minimum of 1.75 i think. how much of a difference is this going to make? should i make the effort to add space to a new box? or will it make much of a difference.

lol anyhow 1.25 is way to small for a 12 ported! you will need atleast 1.75 but imo id go with 2 cubes tuned to 35 hz

yeah thats what i was thinkin. its so crunched for space though in the back there. it will take away alot of the low end would be my guess. right?

well as long as you have some space between the top and front of the enclosure and the car for a clear path of air movement you should be fine

lol what is your box tuned to?

my box is going to be approx 3.9ft^3 tuned to ~33.4 and im running 2 12 CVR's also. but im making it single chambered.

to be perfectly honest i dont knwo what its tuned to. i made it before i even knew i needed to.

its in a extended cab dakota. check my gallery. theres enough space all arond it. but i guess ill just have to see.

my guess it's prolly tuned to 35, 36 maybe but that box plan you got for it sounds nice man.

did what i could on finding out what its tuned to. from what i can see its around 38. but the port length is only about 10 inches. so i might go ahead and add another port wall inside to make it a bit longer. im new to this tuning bit, so correct me if im wrong, but making the port longer will help with the tuning right?

another option is just to make another box. i have the wood needed. but im not sure if i want to erase that ability to hide everything under that seat i made and have it still be able to hold 2 people in the back. if i were to make that box though, i would make it a bit taller. subs firing upwards, along with 2 ports on each opposite side. it would also be divided in the middle. a problem is then i have no where to mount my amps other then on the front of it easy to steal.

any other problems you can see with this setup?

also, would i really notice that much of a difference with 2cu ft to each side and it tuned to roughly 34hz? or should i be fine and just stick with what ive got. 1.25 cu ft each side and tuned to about 38hz.
