Airsoft: Who's into it?

I was at a local gunshow yesterday and happened across an airsoft AEG Ak-47. It isn't Tokyo Marui, but it's still pretty decent. It's a UTG and I paid too much for it. (**** uninformed impulse buys....) BUt shit happens.

Well in the last day I've been searching around and learning about gearbox and barrel upgrades, and about the whole airsoft scene in general and it sounds like it could be fun.

So anyway... I was just wondering who all was into airsoft? And what gun they were currently using. Stories would be cool too.... if that applies...

im 18, and i think its pretty neat.

I have an m16 myself... Im not into the whole modding and alterations of things, cuz i dont have that kind of time and money and theres only a select crowd around me that really do that, and i dont know many.

Usually the only use it gets is when my mom's dog pisses me off by pissing in my room, or trying to hump my foot. d*** toy poodles

I know some people who play it religiously every weekend. I was dragged out once to play. It was ok, but they are all too hardcore about army sim stuff. It can be quite expensive to do as well, if you have to have the best. I played with an AK-47 probably the same as yours.

they be sellin nice airsoft guns over on pbnation all the time they into it over there

i never really got into it got some cheap airsoft pistol layin around here somewhere proby throw it away soon lol

I just started reading up on airsoft forums after I used my friend's crappy springer. I learned the hard way HFC = teh ****. I bought a couple gbb's, a HFC M190 full auto/full metal (full auto gbb = teh shit) and a HFC deagle, both currently being repaired. Was going to get into it seriously but then figured it's a pretty expensive hobby. Don't plan to go to events or anything, just shoot around the house and with friends. Are you gonna go to events and stuff?

And yea, they do hurt when you get hit close range. I shot myself in the leg with a just a springer (claimed 270fps) and it stung for a little bit.

I'll probably go to some, I've seen a couple within a reasonable distance to go... If anything just to see how they react to a non ROTC/military person.... cause I won't know WTF they're talking about.

My brother is into the airsoft scene. My question, I dont talk to him much so...

They go out and have mock battles, like in paintball. How would you know when someone is killed? I mean, in paintball you know when you've been shot. I dont see that in happening with airsoft guns.

BTW...Ill stick with target practice...
